FWA ENGAGEMENT


Kristel extends her influence through her ongoing engagement with the Financial Women's Association (FWA). Nominated by her firm, she completed the Pacesetters program, a specialized six to eight-month leadership initiative designed to empower high-potential professionals. The program provided her with executive coaching, workshops, and networking opportunities.


After graduation, Kristel was chosen as a co-leader of the program and successfully launched an enhanced cohort experience for emerging female executives in the financial services industry. In this role, she prioritized elevating curriculum standards, strengthening mentorship structures, and expanding alumni involvement to foster greater access and improved outcomes.


In addition, Kristel is an active member of the Pacesetter's Alumni community. In this capacity, she has contributed to shaping alumni engagement by supporting the re-establishment of the Pacesetter's Alumni Committee, advising on outreach focused on strengthening connections among past cohorts. The annual FWA Baruch College mentoring event remains a highlight, reflecting her commitment to facilitating opportunities and nurturing emerging talent.


MENTORSHIP & BACKGROUND


With experience as both mentor and mentee across numerous mentoring initiatives—including Moving Ahead's Mission Include, the Risk and Compliance mentoring program, global employee business resource group mentoring programs, and analyst mentoring programs—she demonstrates a sustained commitment to continuous learning, which she considers essential for effective leadership. She acknowledges that valuable perspectives can be gained from every individual, including her own three children. As a mother, she adeptly manages multiple roles each day, offering consistent guidance and direction.


As a first-generation college graduate of immigrant parents, Kristel earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism from Hofstra University, commencing her finance career during her studies and advancing from teller positions to a leadership role in enterprise risk and controls. She consistently demonstrates integrity, collaboration, and dedication to sustainable impact, guided by the enduring advice of an incredible mentor: "As I continue to push up, always remember to pull up behind me."
