Janet Handal honored by NYS Assembly
Sunday, January 20, 2019
Janet Handal, Co-Chair of the Fintech Committee, was recently honored by the New York State Assembly the for her decades of active service in her community. The occasion was the passing of a landmark program by the New York City Council approving a deal that will enable seniors to age in place at Waterside Plaza, Janet’s home, where she is president of the building association and represents the 4,000 people living there. State Assemblyman Harvey Epstein presented Janet with a proclamation that praised her community service, the aging in place agreement, her work at the White House, and noted her accomplishments in technology, a field that is dominated by men. Janet is a technology consultant and, as a long-time member of the Board and Leadership Council, chaired the Annual Dinner, the International Business Conference, and organized the UN Summit on Microfinance, among many other events she organized on behalf of the FWA.
