As part of our commitment to advancing women at the highest levels in finance, the FWA is hosting a private, invitation-only discussion focused on AI implementation in our industry. Convened by the FWA in partnership with AWS, a member of the FWA President’s Circle, this gathering is part of our ongoing thought leadership work at the intersection of technology, leadership, and the future of financial services.

“Building the Future” is an off-the-record gathering intended to foster meaningful, candid conversation among senior women. These are the leaders overseeing large engineering organizations, navigating regulatory complexity, and making high-stakes decisions on AI strategy right now.
While participants will represent different institutions, many challenges under discussion are shared across the industry: organizational resistance, governance tradeoffs, talent questions, and calls that must be made with incomplete information. As institutions deploy AI coding tools to tens of thousands of developers, implement autonomous agents across critical workflows, and navigate evolving regulatory expectations; in these circumstances the most significant leadership challenges remain private. This gathering provides a space for leaders to speak candidly about what is working, what is not, and what they are still figuring out - with the confidence that, under Chatham House rules, this confidential conversation stays in the room.
Participation is intentionally limited, and seats are nearly full. We welcome thoughtful recommendations of leaders who would benefit from and contribute to this dialogue. To request an invitation or make a recommendation, reach out to Alissa Desmarais, FWA Executive Director and COO, at [email protected].
