Description:
Speaking on camera has become a permanent part of professional life—whether you’re presenting ideas, participating in or leading online meetings, or navigating virtual job interviews. Yet even accomplished professionals can feel less confident, less clear, or less persuasive when the screen gets in the way. Drawing on insights from her new book, Zoom to Success: Present Like a Pro, Nancy will share practical reflections on how professionals can think clearly, communicate with authority, and adapt in the moment in virtual settings. Nancy will be joined in this conversation by interviewers, Annette Stewart, current FWA past president and Nina Batson, FWA president 2021-2023. The conversation will explore how to:
- Clarify what “presence on camera” means—and how it shows up in presentations, meetings, and interviews
- Project confidence, credibility, and warmth through voice, facial expression, and body language
- Balance preparation with spontaneity so you sound natural, not rehearsed
- Avoid common online presentation and meeting mistakes that quietly undermine authority
- Adapt your approach whether you’re presenting, responding to questions, or participating in discussions
This session welcomes professionals across experience levels and offers insight and practical perspective for virtual and hybrid workplaces.
