In January 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic and international travel came to a halt, the Financial Women’s Association (FWA) Graduate School Partnership committee, with support from BMO Capital Markets’ Equity Through Education Program, sponsored seven women graduate students from Baruch College Zicklin School of Business to participate in an intensive study abroad program, “International Business Practices and Policies: A European Perspective,” in Lyon, France. The program was designed by the Baruch College Weissman Center for International Business in collaboration with the School of Management (IAE-Institut d’Administration des Entreprises) at Jean Moulin University in Lyon.

During their two weeks aboard, the seven Baruch women students studied alongside students from Lyon’s IAE, attended a special seminar on “Doing Business in the Post-Brexit United Kingdom and the European Union,” and visited companies and international organizations in the region. This program offered a unique opportunity for students to gain an international perspective that is crucial for today’s dynamic and global business environment.

The Graduate School Partnership committee is proud to lead this initiative and to continue the FWA’s mission to contribute to our communities and prepare the next generation of professionals.

In the online booklet, the awardees share their study aboard experience in Lyon, France and express their gratitude for both the FWA and BMO Capital Markets.
