Meet Jason Dodd and Mike Walton, Co-Chairs of the Marketing and Strategic Communications Committee and learn about their contributions to the FWA and how you can get involved:
Membership: What does the Marketing and Strategic Communications Committee do?
The Marketing & Strategic Communications Committee is a standing Committee of the Board of the FWA. In that respect the committee plays a central role in furthering the mission of the FWA and works to increase public awareness of the FWA, its Members and its activities. Through initiating programs, this Committee provides marketing, communications and promotional support (collateral, website, newsletter for example) to other FWA Committees and the FWA President on both a strategic and tactical level.
Membership: What are the top 3 benefits of my joining the Marketing & Strategic Communications Committee?
It’s truly a unique opportunity to grow your awareness of marketing strategy and tactical execution for a non-profit entity.
This is a great chance for you to collaborate alongside industry leaders working in media relations, marketing agencies, and top media companies.
You will personally help drive the continued success of all FWA committees, programs, networking events, and sponsorship activities by contributing to the
committee that supports them all.
Membership: What has the Marketing and Strategic Communications Committee done recently that you’re excited about?
The Committee collaborated with Stephanie Hauge, (Chair of the Development Committee) and her team to develop an expanded #GivingTuesday campaign this year to drive increased support for all FWA programs and events. We couldn’t be happier with the results of everyone’s great ideas and contributions. This campaign didn’t just meet the ambitious new goal of $10,000 – it exceeded it by over 20% bringing in donations from members and non-members alike! You’ll find chances like this to really get the word out in new and engaging ways proves the power of this committee. It’s a rewarding and exciting way to grow your own experience while supporting the FWA and empowering its mentoring, scholarship, and leadership development programs to reach more than 6000 students and thousands more professionals.
