For the past 18 years, I have set these times into my calendar to commemorate the attacks on September 11th. They are the times, respectively, when the North and South Towers were hit, when the Pentagon was struck, the South Tower fell, Flight 93 went down in Shanksville, PA and the North Tower fell. These times are locked into my calendar for perpetuity and are beyond numbers – they represent a tremendous loss of life and a blow to our city, our industry and our country.
I encourage each of us to pause for a moment of silence today, perhaps during these times, to remember those we lost on September 11th. Our thoughts are with their families and the families of all victims of terrorism, as well as the heroic first responders who so bravely gave of themselves in order to help others.
