On Wednesday, October 30, the Membership Committee hosted the FWA Fall Committee Speed Networking evening at Skadden. This was an exclusive, free member benefit, for FWA members only.
The primary objective of the event was to give new FWA members a chance to meet with committee leaders in person, in one setting and learn about the various ways they can get involved.
President-Elect, Nina Batson, kicked off the evening and highlighted that that Committees are the lifeblood of the FWA. Marie-Helene Kennedy-Payen, FWA Membership Committee Chair, shared her experience about the unique connections she made, thanks to her volunteering with committees.
Throughout the session, participants rotated around large tables representing the 4 divisions of the FWA: BOLD, Business and Government, Educational Initiatives and Signature Events. Every 15 minutes, members met with committee chairs under each division in a fun and engaging group speed networking setting. At the end of each rotation, participants also had a chance to sign up directly with the committees they wished to join.
FWA President, Simone Vinocour, closed the event where we raffled some FWA goodies.
