Join FWA President Annette Stewart and featured guests for Transition Tuesdays!
This forum will gather via zoom on one Tuesday of each month from 6-7 pm. Come share space with other FWA members for support and tips on advancing your career and navigating professional transitions. Sessions will be interactive and are open to all experience levels. This month Annette will be joined by Kim Terry, Jessica Thompson, and Arindam Bhattacharyya for a discussion of this session's topic, "Demystifying the Big 4." The discussion includes representatives with experience at Ernst & Young, KPMG, and PWC. Speakers will guide attendees through:
- A day-in-the-life / Life as a Big 4 consultant
- What areas of the Big 4 should you explore for career opportunities
- What do Big 4 firms look for in an ideal candidate
Bios:
Kim Terry
Kim Terry is a Managing Director in KPMG LLP’s Technology Assurance - Audit practice, located in the Charlotte, North Carolina office. Kim has over 17 years of experience in supporting external audits to determine compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations as well as performing SOC1 and SOC2 attestations. Kim is an accomplished IT audit, risk, and compliance professional focused on helping companies to achieve their business objectives while managing risk and complying with outside regulations. She understands big client service and the complexities that come along with that and can successfully bring together diverse teams to solve client issues, while providing exceptional client service. Kim’s current and past clients include some of the leading entities in the financial services industry.
Jessica Thompson
Jessica is a Partner in KPMG’s Technology Assurance - Audit practice with more than nineteen years of audit, advisory and business experience. Prior to joining KPMG, she owned and operated an e-commerce business utilizing manufacturers in multiple countries. She has deep SOC service and industry background as a result of serving SOC clients for the past 19 years, which was leveraged nationally from 2019 to 2022 when she served as the Service Solutions Leader for the US IT Attestation practice. In 2022, Jessica was named the Technology Assurance Professional Practice Partner for the Technology Assurance practice where she oversees the Tech Assurance System of Quality Control, including interacting with the practice to manage overall quality, and helping teams understand attestation and regulatory requirements. Jessica’s current and past clients include some of the leading entities in the financial services, hosting and managed operations and claims management industries.
Arindam Bhattacharyya
Arindam Bhattacharyya serves as a Managing Director within the Business Transformation practice at Ernst & Young LLP. As an executive with a passion for driving transformation, he is committed to enabling organizations and their leaders to realize their desired outcomes. He accomplishes this by bridging the gap between overarching enterprise strategies and practical execution, while prioritizing financial prudence. Arindam champions a culture that embraces innovation and collaboration, ensuring that strategic aims are seamlessly integrated with day-to-day operations.
With more than 18 years in the field, Arindam has amassed extensive expertise in managing complex business and technology transformation initiatives. Notably, he has spearheaded the creation of a $100+ million Security Transformation office for a prominent utility company, established & operationalized separation management offices for significant corporate spin-offs, led the Central Finance S/4 implementation for an agricultural entity, and overseen the establishment of a Robotic center of excellence for key players in the healthcare sector. Throughout his tenure, Arindam has established and maintained strategic partnerships with C-Suite and VP-level stakeholders, actively supporting a variety of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
In addition to his hands-on leadership role, Arindam contributes intellectual insights as an executive author and reviewer for the Cutter Consortium, a renowned project management publication. He has authored three white papers, sharing his industry knowledge and thought leadership with peers and the wider business community.
