inspires the audience
The evening's keynote speaker Gloria Feldt, author of No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change How We Think About Power, took this excellent introduction and moved the audience to a better understanding of power and how women can change the way they think of power and how best to embrace it. Many of us have an old, outdated idea of power. It's not about having power over someone, which makes one feel powerless, but the ability to solve problems that makes one feel powerful. Gloria explained the importance of having a cache of power tools to make your own future—and she didn't mean drills and circular saws! Some of her secrets? Embrace technology, carpe chaos, define your own terms and use what you've got. Members thoroughly enjoyed and were inspired by Gloria and Fran's talks.
