On Wednesday, December 8, 2010, the Financial Women’s Association (FWA) held its annual Holiday Benefit, a fund-raising event benefiting the FWA of New York Educational Fund.
Benefit Highlights
The event was attended by 180 FWA members and guests and was hosted by the Holiday Benefit Committee at the Ana Tzarev Gallery located on 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan. This elegant venue provided a warm, welcoming setting for members and guests to meet and mingle, catch-up, chat and network, amid delightful surroundings and exhibits of colorful Russian fairytale works of art and festive Christmas ornaments.
FWA President, Susan Ganz delivered a warm welcome to members and guests, followed by Justin Warner, who greeted everyone on behalf of the Ana Tzarev Gallery.
In honor of the FWA’s upcoming International Conference to take place in Brazil in April 2011, the evening was adorned with themes of Brazil including a tempting selection of appetizers from Zebu Grill, a top New York City Brazilian restaurant and specialty Caipirinha cocktails.
The highlight of the evening was the unprecedented live entertainment. Members and guests were amused by a thrilling performance of authentic Brazilian Samba by a New York City Brazilian dance team, Marizete Browne and Jailson Leal, both of whom were trained in the art of Brazilian dance in Rio De Janeiro, the home of Carnival. They moved to the exhilarating sounds of Manhattan Samba, an international all-percussion group. The audience was invited to take to the dance floor to experience the thrill of the Samba, which culminated in a conga line that danced its way through the crowd and around the room.
Anticipation filled the air as the 2010 Raffle Drawing commenced and prizes were awarded to the lucky winners. This year, there were 20 magnificent prize packages that included airline vouchers, getaways, shopping soirees, works of art, sporting event tickets, dance lessons, beauty and styling packages, fine dining gift certificates, ladies wear and accessories, theater tickets, local tours, holiday films and various fabulous gift certificates. As customary, proceeds of the raffle benefit the FWA of New York Educational Fund.
This fund-raising event was organized by the FWA’s Holiday Benefit Committee in support of the FWA of New York Educational Fund, through which FWA members engage in scholarship, mentoring, and learning activities in accordance with the FWA’s philosophy of investing in the next generation and the wider business community.
The FWA expresses its appreciation to the Ana Tzarev Gallery for graciously donating the venue, and all who generously donated gifts and services for its raffle drawing.
The Holiday Benefit Committee extends its appreciation to the FWA Leadership Board and Office Staff for their dedication and tremendous support towards the success of this event.
