Mentors and Mentees from Murry Bergtrum High School and Baruch College explored the various wonders of natural history – and didn’t have to leave the island of Manhattan. On April 17, 2010 the Mentoring Committee sponsored a Scavenger Hunt at the Museum of Natural History. The Hunt involved following tricky clues that brought us all over this amazing museum. We learned about dinosaurs, elephants and other scary animals, saw exhibits of strange and ancient cultures and had a good time, too.
The popular event brought together over 40 attendees who were broken into teams and competed for the grand prize – a very handsome FWA mug. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect Mentors and Mentees. For some Mentees, it was their first trip to the museum. We all agreed, it was a fun way to learn and a great way to enjoy the exotic treasures of the museum on a lovely spring day.
