Face the Fed - An Evening with Christine Cumming, First Vice President of The Federal Reserve Bank of New York Highlights

Federal Reserve Bank of New York
A very special opportunity was provided to FWA members on March 23, when the Federal Reserve Bank of New York hosted an evening with Christine Cumming, its First Vice-President and the second ranking officer in the Bank, As chief operating officer as well as an alternate voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), the group responsible for formulating the nation’s monetary policy, Ms. Cumming’s account of the actions taken by the Fed and the reasons it made those decisions during the financial crisis was particularly fascinating to the attendees.

The evening included a reception hosted by the Bank where FWA members and guests had a chance to mingle with women from the Fed’s own women’s affinity group. And a highlight for many was the tour of its celebrated vault where gold bullion belonging to 36 foreign governments, central banks and official international organizations around the world is stored.

Special thanks to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for hosting this event.
