FWA Highlights - Financial Literacy Program Graduates 18
The FWA Financial Literacy Program celebrated the Graduation of 18 students from Non-traditional Employment for Women on May 11th at Nisos, a Mediterranean restaurant in Chelsea. Co-Chair Ann Diamond addressed the students and Cathie Seneca from E*Trade gave out the diplomas. Each graduate was teamed up with an FWA member for a one-on-one counseling session as their graduation gift upon completion of the course. All classes were taught by FWA members along with a Peer Trainer from the community.
Special thanks to E* Trade, FWA , NEW, Julia Katz, Peer Administrator Zahra Chokwe and Peer Trainer Rochelle James, and FWA committee members.
Thank you to all the participants and to E*Trade for their sponsorship.
Attention Members:
In the fall, we will again be teaching at NEW, Non-traditional Employment for Women in Chelsea. The organization trains women to work in the building and construction trades, in the utilities and transportation industries, and in facilities maintenance and repair. If you would like to join the committee, contact Ann Diamond at adiamond7@nyc.rr.com or Mimi Carroll at mimicarroll@aol.com
For the fall class, we will need trainers, administrators and one-on-one counselors. JOIN US! The time commitment can be as little as 1 ½-2 hours.
