Decades of annual international conferences have been a unique feature of the FWA. Our successful conferences have taken us to 6 continents, but have never before been held in the Middle East. With the world's eyes turned to this region and its economies tied to energy challenges, the focus of our 2012 Conference is especially timely.
In the late Feb-March 2012 timeframe, the FWA will hold its 27th annual international conference in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The UAE, home of 8.9 million people, has the world's seventh-largest oil reserves. Abu Dhabi is the seat of federal government, the country's capital and contains most of the country's oil wealth. Neighboring Dubai is considered the country's commercial capital where many multi-national companies have established regional headquarters. This exciting trip will include meetings with top financial institutions, leading international corporations, local companies and government leaders as well as some sightseeing opportunities.

The United States enjoys friendly relations with the UAE; and, the UAE provides UN, U.S., European Union (EU) and NATO forces unprecedented access to ports, territory and other logistical assistance. Notably, UAE ports host more U.S. Navy vessels than any port outside the U.S.
The international committee is hard at work on plans for the conference and will announce trip details in the coming months.
