Join your fellow FWA colleagues to hear about the growth and global reach of microfinance and microinsurance. We are honored to present distinguished speakers from American International Group, Inc. (AIG) The World Bank’s Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), and Women’s World Banking (WWB).
The event will be hosted by AIG. AIG was founded in 1919 as the first foreign insurance provider to offer insurance organization and financial services organization, the largest underwriter of commercial and industrial insurance in the U.S, and one of the top-ranked US life insurers. Its member companies write a wide range of general insurance and life insurance products for commercial, institutional and individual customers through a variety of distribution channels in approximately 130 countries and jurisdictions throughout the world.
AIG has been deeply involved in microfinance. It has worked extensively with MFIs in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Currently, AIG has insured over one million MFI clients in 12 countries and has given millions of dollars to microfinance networks through its corporate giving program. Cattle insurance for a women’s self-help group in India is but one example of many innovative programs in which AIG has been deeply involved and which you will be sure to hear more about at the event.
Richard Pfeiffer, Chairman and CEO of AIG’s Consumer Finance Group, will be moderating the event.
