Please join us for a fascinating look at one of the hottest companies emerging as a Chinese multinational – Lenovo. We will hear from Frances O’Sullivan, Senior Vice President, Product Group, Lenovo, who will share her insights into the company’s product strategy and unique global opportunities.

Lenovo is an international technology company formed as a result of the acquisition by the Lenovo Group of the IBM Personal Computing Division. As a global leader in the PC market, Lenovo develops, manufactures and markets cutting-edge, high-quality PC products. Ms. O’Sullivan has worldwide responsibility for all Think-branded desktops, notebooks, workstations, peripherals and software. Ms. O’Sullivan was with IBM for 24 years before joining Lenovo as a result of the acquisition. Ms. Sullivan will share her knowledge and perspective as to the challenges of working for a global and cross-cultural company, which has offices in Raleigh, North Carolina, Beijing, China, and Singapore.

Speaker Profile
Frances K. (Fran) O’Sullivan is senior vice president, Product Group, Lenovo, with worldwide responsibility for all Think-branded desktops, notebooks, workstations, displays, peripherals and software. Additional responsibilities include being the North Carolina Senior Site Executive for Lenovo and the Lenovo Corporate Sustainability Executive. Previously, she served as senior vice president and COO of Lenovo International and prior to that she was general manager of IBM’s Personal Computer Division.

Ms. O’Sullivan was with IBM for 24 years, the last 21 of them in the personal computer business. She began her career with IBM with an assignment to NASA’s Space Shuttle Program at Cape Kennedy, Florida. She then transferred to IBM’s PC Division and gained engineering and management expertise in development, manufacturing, procurement, and business operations. Her long association with the PC Division includes general management of ThinkPad worldwide business unit, vice president of ThinkPad worldwide development and consumer desktop development.

Ms. O’Sullivan graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and serves on the University of Virginia Engineering Industry Advisory Board. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Technology Association, and the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.
