The FWA is delighted to present representatives from the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC) and the Grameen Foundation to discuss volunteer opportunities.
Join your fellow FWA colleagues to hear about volunteer opportunities in microfinance and small/medium financial enterprises. We are honored to present speakers from the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC), the Grameen Foundation, and Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP.
The FSVC is a not-for-profit, private–public partnership whose mission is to help build sound banking and financial systems in transitioning and developing countries. FSVC recruits as volunteers leading financial, legal, and regulatory professionals to deliver technical assistance. It operates around the world. Since FSVC’s founding in 1990, more than 7,000 volunteer experts have taken part in over 1,400 missions. Caryn Young, Managing Director of FSVC, will be one of our distinguished panelists. She has global responsibility for FSVC’s program development and volunteer recruitment. In addition, an FSVC volunteer will share with us her experiences in the field.
Grameen Foundation, founded in 1997, is a global network of microfinance partners reaching millions of families in over 20 countries. Grameen provides funding, technical assistance, training and new technology to its partners, who are institutions working on the front lines in microfinance. Its Technology Center is a leader in information and communications technology initiatives that are dedicated exclusively to advancing microfinance. Sal Pappalardo, Chief Operating Officer of Grameen, is our other distinguished panelist. He will be discussing a new and exciting volunteer program that Grameen expects to launch very soon.
Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP is an AmLaw 200 international law firm, whose worldwide practice includes mergers & acquisitions, finance and capital markets, project finance and infrastructure, investment management, taxation, real estate, litigation and international arbitration.
