Steve Eckhaus, Esq., Managing Partner of the McCarter and English New York Office

Mr. Eckhaus is a litigator, negotiator and advisor with over 30 years of experience, concentrating on executive compensation, employment law, corporate and securities law, dispute resolution and counseling.

Mr. Eckhaus served as an owner's representative on the supervisory boards of several major New York City properties including the Empire State Building; directed a $57 million §1031 “like kind” exchange deferring $26 million in taxes from the sale of a NYC hotel; supervised a $21 million leasing transaction, and successfully represented a mutual fund manager investigated by the SEC and NJ Department of Securities in the “Canary Capital” market timing investigation.

In trials and appeals involving significant public policy issues, Mr. Eckhaus was responsible for expanding the scope of protections for U.S. workers employed by foreign corporations, Morelli v. Cedel, 141 F.3d 39 (2d Cir. 1998); and establishing the legal basis for emerging family responsibilities protections. Matter of Trezza, 1998 U.S. Dist Lexis 20206 (S.D.N.Y.)

On July 17 and 19, 2007, Mr. Eckhaus was a keynote speaker on the subject of Incentive Compensation at conferences in Shanghai and Guangzhou, China, sponsored by the Shenzen Stock Exchange, the Guangdong Venture Capital Association, the Guangdong Technology Venture Capital Group Co., Ltd, the School of Economics and Commerce of South China University of Technology, and the School of Economics of Fudan University.


Leah Peskin, Partner, Cromwell & Partners

Leah Peskin is a Partner of Cromwell partners, an executive search firm founded in 1991 and headquartered in New York City. The firm is dedicated to serving clients in the financial services industry. Since joining the firm in 2000, Ms. Peskin has helped lead the expansion of the firm’s strategic consulting practice for senior initiatives. She also continues to develop a broad practice in human capital consulting for financial institutions.

During Ms. Peskin’s sixteen-year career as a search consultant, she has established an impressive track record of successfully completed senior-level searches in capital markets, investment banking, alternatives and asset management, with specific expertise in sales, trading and research for equities and equity-linked products, derivatives, proprietary trading, emerging markets and portfolio management and distribution. Much of Leah’s success is attributed to her discernment of the 3-5 year goals of both her clients and candidates. This ability to grasp and connect these shared objectives has resulted in exceptionally high performance and subsequent promotion of her candidates, ultimately, adding to the bottom line of the respective business units.

Prior to entering the search industry, Ms. Peskin was part of the corporate bank at Citicorp for sixteen years as a vice president advising on human resources policy. During her tenure with the organization she collaborated on such staffing projects as Position Evaluation, Internal Mobility, Manpower Planning, Affirmative Action, Compensation, and MBA/Professional recruiting.


Daniel A. Pollack, Esq., Founding Partner of Pollack & Kaminsky

Mr. Pollack’s practice has centered on the defense of large corporations in financial litigation, advising corporations on issues of corporate governance and advising executives and corporations on employment agreements and separation agreements.

Mr. Pollack received a B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1960, received an M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University in 1962 and an LLB from Harvard Law School in 1965. He founded his present firm, now known as Pollack & Kaminsky, in 1967.

Representative corporate clients include: T. Rowe Price Associates, Franklin-Templeton, INVESCO, AIG, Rockefeller & Co. and J. & W. Seligman. Since 1990 Mr. Pollack has focused on representing senior corporate executives in exit and entry negotiations and agreements. In this context, he has advised J. Tomilson Hill, former President of Lehman Brothers (now at Blackstone), the late T. Christopher Pettit, President of Lehman Brothers, Lawrence J. Lasser, Former CEO of Putnam, the late Michael J. Biondi, former CEO of Dresdner, Kleinwort Wasserstein, Bobby Mehta, former CEO of HSBC (now CEO of TransUnion), James McDonald, CEO of Rockefeller & Co. among many others.

During the course of his career, Mr. Pollack has tried over 20 civil jury trials to verdict and over 30 non-jury trials. He as appeared as appellate counsel in numerous federal and state appellate courts and is a Member of the Bar of the First, Second, Fourth and eleventh circuits. He is also a Fellow of the American college of Trial Lawyers and was an Adjunct Professor of Law at NYU Law School. Mr. Pollack argued two landmark cases on corporate governance in the Supreme Court of the United Sates, both dealing with the issue of the powers of corporate directors.

In the area of executive search litigation, Mr. Polack tried to a jury and then-Judge Michael B. Mukasey (now Attorney General of the United States) the case of Seiden Associates v. American National Can Co. the trial resulted in a jury verdict ordering payment of the executive search firm’s fee.
