We are honored to have Nell Merlino, Cheryl Mills and Christine Reilly share their insights about complicated legal and financial issues and the resources available for becoming an entrepreneur.
Speaker Profiles
Nell Merlino is co-founder, President and CEO of Count Me In, who since 1988 has been motivating millions of people to take action about becoming entrepreneurs. Nell is the driving force behind Count Me In’s goal to assist one million women entrepreneurs to a million dollars in revenue by 2010 through the “Make Mine a $Million Business™,” program that provides money, mentoring and marketing opportunities to women business owners looking to surpass the “$million mark.” In 1993, Nell created, designed and produced “Take Our Daughters to Work Day.” To date over 71 million Americans have participated in this annual event.
Cheryl Mills was recently the Associate Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington D.C. Cheryl was responsible for programs impacting over 1.6 million small-businesses owners and through a network of 14,000 counselors nationwide, the SBA assisted 800,000 women-owned business develop strategic and marketing plans. Cheryl has served as a Trustee of the New Jersey $81 billion pension fund helping to direct the fund into alternative asset classes. Prior to her appointment in Washington, Cheryl did business development and marketing for Bradford Investment Group, a boutique venture capital firm investing in small and mid-size businesses through seed and second-stage funding.
Christine Reilly is President of CIT Small Business Lending Corporation, a division of CIT’s Corporate Finance organization. Chris is responsible for overseeing an organization that has been recognized as the nation’s leading Small Business Association lender for eight consecutive years, as well as, the top lender to women, minority, and veteran-owned small businesses for the last five years.
