Wall Street Exchange 2008 - It is Time to Get Involved and Influence the Future!
Who has helped you throughout your career? Have you gotten to where you are all on your own or have you had a network of support? Certainly, each of us can identify at least one individual who has influenced her future. Perhaps it’s time for you to be that influential person for someone else by joining the Summer Network for the Wall Street Exchange 2008.
The FWA's Wall Street Exchange (WSE) is a program designed to augment the summer internship work experience of select students who are between their junior year and senior years of college and are working in finance in the New York metropolitan area. In 2007, over 40 students from colleges across the United States, including Harvard, Yale, NYU, Cornell, Mount Holyoke, Princeton, Weselyan, Georgetown, Texas A&M, Rutgers, Baruch and USC, and employers including Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Bank of New York, New York Life Investment Management and Bear Stearns participated in the program. By all accounts, it was a tremendous success.
| “Thank you for coordinating the WSE program. It was a terrific experience. I am sure we all learned more about ourselves and each other from the very first meeting about our personality and career match with Shoya Zichy and through interactions with professionals and our peers.” |

We launch the FWA's 2008 Wall Street Exchange program on Tuesday, June 17th with our opening reception, the first of eight professional development workshops that will help our students get to know leading Wall Street firms and vice versa. Over the course of the summer, our students will have the opportunity to sharpen the skills needed to excel in a career in finance, including such topics as professionalism, leadership, resume writing, effective interviewing, and career development and planning. In order to emphasize the importance of building professional relationships, we have also established the "Summer Network", a volunteer group of dedicated FWA members who offer Exchange participants professional support.
We encourage you to become part of this year's Wall Street Exchange program by joining as a volunteer member of the Summer Network and by attending our once a week events. Whether you attend all eight events, or only one, you will have an impact. This is a wonderful opportunity to give back by helping students develop the tools they need to launch their career and pursue a path to success. Along the way, you'll have the chance to visit leading Wall Street firms and meet established industry professionals.
