Mission

Manage international conference and organize related programs on international issues.

The principal objective of the International Affairs Committee is to develop the FWA’s annual International Conference to familiarize delegates with an economy in flux or performing with distinction. This objective is accomplished through substantial business and cultural programs that give delegates first hand exposure to the country’s commercial, cultural, and political leaders.

FWA International Business Conference -2010 Destination: Costa Rica

FWA is going to Costa Rica! Plan to join the delegation for a week in early March 2010 to experience this keystone Central American nation for yourself.

Long known as Latin America’s earliest democracy, Costa Rica boasts universal education, a growing service industry highlighted by eco-tourism and a President who is a Nobel Laureate. A country of sublime natural beauty, bounded by both the Caribbean and Pacific coasts, Costa Rica is home to a multitude of wildlife, including the sloth, jaguar, the tiny tree frog and the quetzal, the national bird.

Costa Rican Sloth
Our itinerary is in the early planning stages, but potentially will include business conferences and panels in San Jose, the nation’s centrally-located capital, as well as workshops with academic institutions in the Monteverde cloud forest area. An optional post-conference expedition is planned for Manuel Antonio located on the Pacific Coast.

And more to come.

To ensure your place on this exciting adventure, please send your fully-refundable deposit of $500 payable to FWA of New York to the FWA office, marked for the conference. Cost for the trip will be announced in October.

As the “Ticos” salute their green and growing nation: “Pura Vida!”
