Lisa Mezzetti – a partner of Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC and a member of FWA’s Leadership Committee -- received the 2012 Corporate Affiliate Award from the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) on September 11 during its Annual Conference held in Anchorage, Alaska. The Corporate Affiliate Award is given nearly annually to “recognize an active corporate affiliate member for outstanding service to the profession and the association.”

NAST First Vice-President and Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Virginia, The Honorable Manju Ganeriwala, made the presentation, noting Lisa’s work for NAST and the Treasurers, particularly over the last five years, when she served on the Corporate Affiliate Board, was Chair of that Board for 2011, and now is serving with the Board in the position of Immediate Past Chair. In 2012, she also has been appointed by NAST’s President, Treasurer Kate Marshall of Nevada, to the organization’s committee exploring its business model and tasked with recommendations concerning its future business streams, events and services. Lisa serves on that committee with three state treasurers.
The National Association of State Treasurers is composed of all state treasurers or state finance officials with comparable responsibilities from the United States, its commonwealths, territories and the District of Columbia. NAST is instrumental in developing and promoting standards of excellence regarding ethical conduct, policy guidelines and accountability, and model legislation and regulations.
There are over 100 NAST Corporate Affiliates, private sector firms that enter membership in and partnership with NAST; the program was founded in 1986. Many hundreds of their representatives work with NAST and the Treasurers.
